Profile
1966: Started activity as a dancer in the group Wakanokai. Received the Japan Media Arts Festival Award , and the Ryo Tanaka Award.
1980: Performed at the American Dance Festival.
1981: Started solo activity.
1986: Formed group Hohnokai. Received support from the Japan Arts Fund and presented collaborative works created with musicians and fine artists, including Tokishimo Ima wa - Botankoh -, Kaika and Yare Hana Yonoh. . .
2001: Made a fresh start with the 01 Stage dance company and presented Over the River. . ., Kaze no Iro.
Kashiho Hanayagi has been working with voice performer Rey Abe as L'Aquarium since 1986.

Concepts and Goals
Kashiho Hanayagi aspires to work internationally with the 01 Stage dance company while continuing to navigate her unique expressive and spatial sensibilities and create universally accessible works that are based on traditional Japanese dance techniques and remain faithful to a uniquely Japanese aesthetic sensibility.
Future Plans
Kashiho Hanayagi hopes to bring to a wider public a contemporary dance driven by traditional Japanese dance techniques, and to be able to perform overseas.
