1989, Mushimaru Fujieda started solo dance activities under the name of Dokugi Mushimaru.
1990 - 92: Conducted a tour from the Takla Makan Desert to Tibet as well as an Asia and America tour.
1997: Received the Tobita Theater Award for Best Improvisational Dance.
1999: As the starring performer and director, Mushimaru organized Asian Performing Arts Now in three Japanese cities that were attended by Asian dancers and theater companies.
2000: ALAKAN, a male ensemble, started dance activity.
2002: Performed Flowing Water with Korean Traditional Arts company. Also organized, produced, directed, and performed in the Finland-Japan Arts Exchange Concert with a Jazz unit from Finland.
2003: ALAKAN conducted performances in six places outside of Japan including German and France.
Fujieda, who is based on the island of Yakushima, Japan, is currently working on activities in Japan and abroad.

In 2004, Mushimaru Fujieda moved to the island of Yakushima in Kagoshima prefecture.
While searching for a balance between spiritual and physical happiness, he enjoys mixing country life and dance in his daily ritual.
In the future, he hopes to organize long running art events, where artists from home and abroad are able to enjoy the leisure pace and the close-nit island society of Yakushima to create and perform their works.

- The Natural Physical Poet workshop
Workshops usually last three days for five hours each day. Through exercises focusing on breathing and movement, participants can join and perform dance. At the end of the workshop, all participants perform their works.
