Seems like it's more complicated than I thought. I guess it's nothing terrible, but it still gives me the chills.
You know, once you've served, you're not afraid of anything but the living. Though I remember when I was a kid, my granny used to scare me. She'd start telling me stories about all sorts of evil things! She was born before the revolution, she'd seen all sorts of things, maybe that's why. I was about five years old, playing with my toys. She came in, locked all the doors, covered the windows, and was like. "There's that striga again". I asked her what the word striga meant. And so she began to tell my five year old ass about some monster at night, how scary it is and how it drinks blood. Fucking why?
These "spirits of winter" guarding the bonfires seem to have grown in body, but not in mind. I have an idea how to change things up. Do this, and we'll see how they react.
Try shooting tracers at the bonfire at point-blank range, like 10-20 meters, to set it on fire. I think there's more of those spirits out there than meets the eye, and it probably won't make them happy. Just take the tracers and remember the basics of CQC! And when they come out let's chase the winter away, so to speak, hehe!
