In 1996, ZINZOLIN started as a dance company that was focused on creating dance works and performing dance works.
In 2000 the duo unit, ZINZOLIN, was started by Shoko Kashima and Ryoko Sugimoto. In autumn of the same year, Kashima and Sugimoto went to New York City to study dance on a scholarship from the Japanese Government Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program. They performed duo dance at home and abroad, and received favorable reviews for their sophisticated style. Since returning to Japan, they have been engaged in body conditioning workshops. Kashima also concentrates on improvisational dance activities.
In recent years, Kashima and Sugimoto have specialized in improvisation works and body conditioning, as well as organizing workshops. As requests for holding their workshops have increased, they hope to visit various places and connect with various people.
ZINZOLIN hopes to organize and carry out workshop festivals in Japan with foreign artists, and also hopes to perform in Israel.
