COMPANY/Torifune Butoh-sha

Home Company founded in Kanagawa, Chigasaki City.
1992: Debuted KENKA at Mikamikayo Butoh Koen, after soon after released Dokubu 4 Series.
1994: Organized Butoh Group （sister company under Torifune Butoh Sha） "SHONAN BUTOH HA" for middle-age performers, and released new works every two years （Six works completed at present）.
2004: Started newcomer performance "Kandachime Series" （Two works completed at present）.
Performed in 21 cities in 11 countries, including France, America, Russia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Middle Europe （Crotia, Slovania, Czeck）, England, and others.

Butoh Work of Torifune Butoh Sha is based on Kayo Mikami's elucidation of Tatsumi Hijikata's work （Ochanomizu University master's/doctoral thesis: "The human body as a Vessel"）. Company goals include not relying on technique, conducting workshops, and exploring the expression which is born from non-expression.

To collaborate with individuals of various backgrounds and experience levels （regardless of race, genre, age, "professional" status, etc.） to develop a new style of Botoh.
