Profile
1975: Born in Tokyo
1997: Graduated from Waseda University, First School of Literature (Theatre Arts Major).
2004: Completed doctoral course at University of Tokyo Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology (Aesthetics).
He is a member of Japanese Society for Aesthetics, International Association for Aesthetics, and Japanese Society for Dance Research.
2001: Began writing for the bimonthly magazine Ballet.

Daisuke Muto writes for a variety of publications, including Ongaku Buyoh Shimbun (The Music and Dance Press), L-Magazine, Eureka, Bacchus, Cut in, and Theatre Arts.
Member of the selection committee for Toyota Choreography Award 2002 and 2005.
Participated in the International Dance Festival Ireland, receiving a grant from Asia-Europe Foundation Participated in the International Dance Festival Ireland, receiving a grant from Asia-Europe Foundation (2004). As well, participated in the Kyoto Creators Meeting 4 (2004), New York Butoh Festival (2005), Dansu Hakushu (Dance Hakushu) (2005, 2006), and the Indonesian Dance Festival (2006).
Muto conducted a research program, granted by the Asian Cultural Council from 2005 to 2006, in Southeast Asia and New York.
Served as Facilitator for 3rd Asian Dance Conference in 2007.
