Prospects for Japanese Contemporary Dance
If Saburo Teshigawara and Dumb Type can be likened to the first generation, the rise of contemporary dance in the 90’s is the second generation. Tsutsumi expects that the third generation will appear soon. There is a ward called “Ki Sho Ten Ketsu” in Japanese. “Ki” is introduction, “Sho” is development, “Ten” means transition, and “Ketsu” means conclusion. Tsutsumi thinks that the third generation can be likened to “Ten”, a transition that will change dance history. He is looking forward to witnessing the big change.
