History / Profile
Founded in 1992
KAIBUNSHA was founded in 1992, and has since then produced dramatic performances and concerts with Akira Kasai, Ko Murobushi, Setsuko Yamada, Kota Yamazaki, and Naoka Uemura.
Concepts and Goals
KAIBUNSHA has produced a wide range of boundary-breaking, experimental performing arts projects encompassing both contemporary and traditional arts. KAIBUNSHA has extensive experience overseas and has managed foreign tours and collaborations for Japanese artists and companies.
Future Plans
To invite and organize Japan performances for The Company, led by a representative stage director in India, Neelam Man Singh Chowdhry.

Current and Continuing Programs
Performance:Akira Kasai
Independent production of one work per year and numerous guest appearances overseas.
2005.6: Performance of “Das Schinkiro” at International culture house in Germany.
2005.10: Performance of “Pollen Revolution” in Mexico and Flowers in Chile and New York City.
2006.1: Performance of “Shinkiro” (Mirage) co-produced by German and Japanese groups at Theater Tram in Japan.
2006.9: Performance of “Pollen Revolution” in the Portuguese Republic.
Performance:Ko .Murobushi
Regular performances of the series Experimental Body by dance unit Ko & Edge. Active in performances in Japan and overseas and also receives numerous invitations overseas.
2006.6: Solo Dance Performance Experimental Body vol.3, “quick silver”, first performed in Tokyo and thereafter received an invitation to La Biennale di Venezia Dance Festival.
2006.10: Workshops for five weeks and performance of “quick silver” in Angers, France.
Performance:Setsuko Yamada
Concentrating on original solo dance, she conducts creative activities including duo dance and session works.
2005.12: Setsuko Yamada Dance Performance of “Kimyona Kodoku” (Strange Solitude) at Spiral Hall.
2006.6: Dance Performance of “Kimyona Kodoku” vol.2 at Kyoto Art Center.
2006.8: Setsuko Yamada and Misako Terada Performance of “Tsunagareru” at Sapporo Concarino.
Performance:Kota Yamazaki (Kota Yamazaki Fluid hug-hug co.)
2005: Performed a co-choreographed work in Ruwanda, Africa, “FAGAALA”, at JADE2005.
2005: Choreographed work caused by economy for a Korean dancer at Korean Dance Festival.
2006: Performance of “Rise: Rose” at Melbourne in October, at DTW in New York City in November, and is planned to perform in Tokyo in March 2007.
Performance:Naoka Uemura
Performance of solo series and active in co-production beyond boundaries of realms of the arts.
2005.7: Naoka Uemura and Mizutake Kasai Performance of Boku to Kimi to Kyori (i distance i) at Korean Dance Festival at the Korean National Theater.
2007.2: Naoka Uemura Solo Dance Performance of 2007 “New Horizon” at the Benisan-Pit in Tokyo.
