Concepts and Goals
Poster Hari's Company collects, preserves, and exhibits performing arts-related posters from the 1960s onward, helping to revitalize various areas of research as well as the field of theatre itself. The Company also engages in information exchange and poster loaning with overseas performance venues, museums, and individuals involved in graphic art. Currently, there are approximately 10,000 performing arts-related posters in the current collection. Around 6,000 of these have been compiled into a database.
Poster Hari's Company also runs a business distributing theatre, butoh, dance, movie and exhibition posters and fliers to theatres, restaurants, galleries, art schools and live music venues.
Future Plans
To further develop the Contemporary Theatrical Posters Collection, Preservation and Exhibition Project and to organize various poster exhibition tours in Japan and overseas. Also to further perfect the company's poster and flier distribution business.

Current and Continuing Programs
Other program:Japan Avant-Garde - Poster Masterpieces from Underground Theatre Exhibition
Highlighting masterpieces of poster art from the small-theatre phenomenon known as Angura (underground theatre), which played an crucial role in Japanese counter-culture in the '60s and '70s, this exhibition presents a Japanese Avant-garde poster art rivaling that of both the Belle パoque and the Russian Avant-garde. A Japanese/English document book is available.
Other program:Contemporary Theatrical Poster Exhibition
Held since 1998, this program both offers a retrospective view of one year of contemporary theatre, dance and butoh events and urges the reconsideration of posters as information media. Currently, posters from 2002 are on display. Exhibitions are annual and are accompanied by documented books, of which five have been published so far.
Other program:Shuji Terayama and Tenjo Sajiki Poster Exhibition
This exhibition of around eighty precious posters tracks the work of artist Shuji Terayama and theatre group Tenjo Sajiki (including plays, films, exhibitions and concerts) from the group's founding in 1967 until its break-up in 1983. Shuji Terayama's films are shown as well.
OutreachOther program:Contemporary Theatrical Posters Collection, Preservation and Exhibition Project
