Realm of the mad God Security Updates and Changes

Hello everyone,

We are bringing Realm of the Mad God back up across all servers.

We urge you to please read the following info, since there are some extra steps that registered users will have to take before playing the game. Subsequent logins will behave normally.

All of these extra steps and precautions are required because of the recent security breach. In addition, we urge you to never use the same passwords in two different places (for example: for Realm of the Mad God and for your email account). Please follow basic "strong password" security practices.

These following notes are primarily for users playing from www.realmofthemadgod.com

1. Upon opening the game, click "PLAY"
2. You will be asked to login
   • In certain instances you will be required to login again, this is the correct behavior, and will only occur on your first login.
3. You will be required to update your password.

We have also set new password requirements. They are as follows:

1. Your new password must be between 10 and 20 characters.
2. It must contain at least one number.
3. It cannot contain the same symbol (letter or number) more that twice in a row (no aaa or 222.)
4. It cannot be your previous password.

The other portals (Steam, Kabam.com, Kongregate, Google Play) have different login methods and authentication, so you can login normally.

NOTE: If your login info isn't saved, you will have to login using the email attached to your account and the associated password.

• Added US West 3 server
• Increased memory capacity on servers to help performance.
• Added Bella boss fight
• Added New Items for Bella Battle
• Added New Skins for Bella Battle
• Added new Secret Content for Player Appreciation Event (click here for more details.)
• New temp Support ticketing system
• Security Login Modal and Password Reset modal. Not too exciting but necessary

The bulk of the effort over the last two weeks was spent on a number of fixes that were required, and are not really visible on the surface. We will not be going into detail on any of these changes for obvious reasons.

If you are having issues with:

• Password reset emails
• Login problems
• Accounts that have been vandalized
• Problems on other portals (Steam, Kabam.com, Kongregate, Google Play)

Steam and Kongregate users with Login issues: Please Read!

If your account was previously a linked Web to Steam or Web to Kongregate account it could cause an issue upon login.

If you are experiencing login issues, there are a few things for you to try:

1. Login to your web account via realmofthemadgod.com
2. Use the web credentials IF it prompts you IN GAME on Steam or Kongregate.

Introducing Bella's Garden

Hello Realmers!

Many of you already know me, but if you don’t let me introduce myself. I am KoalaP, resident QA for Realm of the Mad God. I’ve been working on Realm for over a year, and have had the opportunity to spend some time with a number of you both in game and in testing. I have always enjoyed being a part of the Realm community, and it is because of my passion for this game and its community that I wish to become more involved in its creation.

Today, I would like to share with you a special project that I have been working on as of late. Some of you know that I have an interest in design, and what I would like to share with you is my first feature. Meet Bella Donna:

Bella is a unique creature, the product of a mishap caused by the Mad Lab Scientist as he ambled past her in search of a key ingredient for his experiment. Here is her story if you would like to get to know her:

Though Bella seeks vengeance for her fellow flowers, she only has a limited time to do it. She is a flower after all, and her life is fleeting in comparison to our own. A key to her lair will be available in the Nexus for 250 Fame. Should you encounter and defeat Bella Donna before she goes away, you may obtain one of the limited edition Valentine weapons that we have created or one of two Valentine themed skins!

So this is my Valentine’s gift to you, Realmers. It is simple, but I hope that you like it. <3

Realm of the Mad God Player Appreciation Event // THE GAME IS UP!

To our players, fans, community, supporters:

The past 2 weeks have been a serious disruption for all of us, but none so much as those who continue to play this game. With what has happened we understand the myriad feelings that have been voiced by this community.

The target was both us and our community. While we understand that our plans for the Player Appreciation Event cannot equate to the time, worry, and loss that you, our community, has been forced to endure, we hope that you may find some happiness in the events unfolding for the next 10 days. With that said, we hope you take a minute to read exactly what we, the Realm Team, would like to offer the community:

Starting today, 2/20/14, and recurring each day at 12:00pm PST we will unveil the next gift / event. Player Appreciation Events will typically be available for Fame or be 100% Free, and each one will be available for a limited time. There are a total of 10 days of appreciation. We will be unveiling them on an event page below, along with other assorted events.

Available today, 2/20/14 all players will be able to receive a one time package filled with:

• 5x XP Boosters
• 5x Loot Drop Potions

This package will cost 0 Gold and be purchasable ONCE by all players. It will be available for the duration of the Player Appreciation Event. The only requirement is that your account must be made BEFORE February 6th, 2014.

She wasn’t always like this, it used to be simple. Her life was brief but beautiful, each day spent in the warm company of the sun and the gentle touch of the rain.

Then everything changed…
The scientist who created her didn’t mean to, she knew it. He had simply spilled a vial he was working with onto her petals as he passed by in search of an ingredient for his mad concoction. Now she could see, now she could move, and now she could process the horror that took place each Valentine’s Day. Each year, Bella watched in agony as flowers were picked by wandering adventurers to give to their loved ones. She cried for each dear little plant as its life was plucked from its roots to adorn an empty glass vase only to be thrown away a few days later without a thought.

This year will be different though, this year they will learn to respect the flora they stomp on each day. This year, she will fight back…

Harnessing the power of her deadly berries, Bella Donna will not stand by idly and watch as yet another bloom’s life is cut short. No, she will make each and every adventurer pay for their folly...

A new key will be released, and sold for 250 fame. This takes players to a forest where they must square up against the deadly Belladonna. Rewards entail a chance for 2 new, special Valentines Day skins, as well as the chance for special event weapons! You can read more about Bella Here.

It's that time of the year again! Good ole Valentines Day! Alas, there is an issue.....Cupid took a few too many bullets and now his Arrow is not working properly! Everyone is falling in love with NPCs, Gods, Pets and even their Gear?! Participate in this event and have a chance to win awesome prizes!

This event starts today and the submission period ends Friday 2/28/14 at 11:59 PM pst. After that date/time, we will no longer accept entries. Full details can be found here.

We have released the new Nun skin for the priest class! The best part about it is that it will be FREE! You read that correctly folks, F-R-E-E! This skin will be sold via a package at the character select screen. Please keep in mind the following:

• You may only redeem once per account

• Only accounts that were made before February 6th, 2014 have the ability to redeem

[Note: To retrieve the skin, purchase the package, pick up the item in your vault, and then return to the nexus. You need to switch zones or refresh the game before you can use the item.]

On Day 1, we released the key to Bella Donna's lair for fame. We see players have been running the dungeon... but we felt we could kick it up a notch. It seems some players are having issues with overcrowding the dungeon, resulting in trouble seeing where bellas flowers are going to spawn. In order to help with this. we want to get keys in the hands of more players, to spread it out a bit. So! Starting today through tomorrow the Bella Key is half off! Get those keys for only 100 fame! [Forum Event] Project Realmway

Have you ever wanted to create your own skin? Have a design that’s just absolutely fab and just have to share? Think you have what it takes to compete on here, but have the fashion sense more in tuned with this guy? Well, now’s your chance to show us what you’ve got! Welcome to the first installment of:

How to Participate:

You will need to create your design by using the draw tool.

Instructions on how the draw tool works and how to upload images can be found here.

Your design must also adhere the the following specifics (see example below):

MUST create 3 separate sprites of the character you'd like to create:

• Left Facing
• Front Facing
• Back Facing

Example:

• After your Skin has been completed, you must upload the image to a free host (Imgur, Tinypic, Photobucket)
• Next you will need to reply to this thread with your Skin, forum name and the Tag: Realmway
• For reference, you can learn how to Upload and Post an image here.
• Do not forget to provide us with the tags you used!

Guidelines and Rules:

• All rules and prizes are subject to change.
• Your entry must follow the rules and guidelines of the ToS.
• Keep what you design appropriate! (PG-13 or less)

[Forum Event] Stupid Cupid

It's that time of the year again! Good ole Valentines Day! Alas, there is an issue.....Cupid took a few too many bullets and now his Arrow is not working properly! Everyone is falling in love with NPCs, Gods, Pets and even their Gear?! Participate in this event and have a chance to win awesome prizes!

How to Participate:

• Take a screenshot of your character standing next to an NPC (merchants), monster, boss, God, or Pet. You may also take a screenshot of your favorite piece of gear (weapon/skin).
• You can spruce up the screenshot if you'd like, but this is not a requirement. (Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, etc) Just DO NOT cover up the NPC, monster, boss, ect. or your character. If you are using an item, be sure the tool tip is showing.
• Upload the image to a free host (Imgur, Tinypic, Photobucket) Instructions on how to upload an image can be found here.
• Make a post in this thread with your account name, character name, the name/description of the NPC, monster, boss, God, or Pet you're standing next to, or the name of the item (remember to have the tool tip showing!), your screenshot and a short poem to them (Remember, this is a LOVE poem!)

Update: Bellas Garden Patch Notes!

Hello Realm!

I hope you all have been enjoying the Player Appreciation event so far! There are a few changes to one of the dungeons, Bella’s Garden, which you’ll see with the upcoming patch. Specifically:

• Damage has been slightly lowered for all of her damaging projectiles
• Damage has been changed from a flat rate (same damage per shot) to a damage range
• The projectile range on Flowers has been reduced
• A short (3 sec) invulnerable period has been added to the Loot Chest
• The Loot Chest health has been increased
• Bug Fix: Bella now makes a sound when hit, and when killed
• Bug Fix: Wand of Budding Romance description now displays
• Bug Fix: Emaculate changed to the correct version of Immaculate
• Bug Fix: Feed Power removed from Key

The changes above reflect a rebalancing effort on our end, that we hope will make the dungeon more enjoyable moving forward.

The keys will continue to be available for Bella’s Garden until March 2nd, at which point they will be removed from the shop. The keys will still be functional after they are removed, they will just no longer be purchasable.

We hope that you continue to enjoy the Player Appreciation event as well as Bella’s Garden. Happy hunting, and may the loot Gods give you luck!

Release 19.4 is now Live! See below for changes:

Changes:

• The Bella's Garden items are now listed as UT. (This includes: Diamond Bladed Katana, Staff of Adoration, Wand of Budding Romance, Heartfind Dagger, Vinesword, Cupid's Bow)
• Please keep in mind they are still tradable.
• We have added a Support link to the main menu. Please use this to contact our support team!
• Version changed to 19.4
