A Tychonoff space X is said to be almost rim-compact if for every compactification Y of X, every point in imgtex.fcgi?%5bres=100%5d%7b$Y%5csetminus%20X$%7d%25.png has a neighborhood base by open sets whose boundary is contained in X.
