This is how the new Workshop lift feature works:

  • Save creation
    To save your creation, make sure it’s on the lift and then press E on the lift to access the menu.
    作品を保存するには、作品をリフトに乗せ、リフトに向かってEキーを押してメニューにアクセスしてください。
  • Build saved creation
    To build saved or downloaded creations, you need to have an empty lift and press E on the lift.
    セーブまたはダウンロードした作品を作るためには、何も載せていないリフトに向かってEキーを押してください。

Here are the update notes:

  • Added Blueprint Import and Export feature with Workshop functionality.
    ワークショップ機能による、設計図のインポート・エクスポートを追加した。
  • Some worlds that were crashing the game when loaded should now work.
  • Fixed a bug with the Weld Tool that could crash the game.

Hey Mechanics!
A new update is here.
This time, we have a big sound update for you.
Since release, we felt that the sounds were not as responsive and satisfying
as we wanted them to be. So we decided to give the sounds some extra love.
The collisions are more noticeable now and we even added sounds to sliding objects.
Your creations will sound better now!

We also took the time to fix a bunch of other things.

Here are the patch notes:

  • Major collision audio rework.
  • Shape building is no longer canceled when other players update the same creation.
  • Players can now switch between multiplayer and single player without restarting the game.
  • Weld tool performance and interaction fixes.
  • Q and Escape can now close Paint tool GUI.
  • Various Connect tool fixes.
  • Stability fixes.
  • Various other bugfixes.

Keep in mind that small updates like this
do not affect the work we do on optimization, bigger requested features and survival mode.

Hi Mechanics!
Unfortunately the Weld Tool update came with some multiplayer issues that made it
difficult to play with friends. This is now fixed!
As thanks for your patience we have added two new building parts.
The large windshield and the small windshield.
Hope you like them!

Fixed a crash that occurred when the object picked up by weld tool was modified by another player.

Weld Tool Update 0.1.27 (2016/05/28)

Hi Mechanics!
We have a really special update for you today!
By popular demand, we are happy to finally add the Weld Tool to Scrap Mechanic.
Not only can the Weld Tool fix broken creations but it can also create machines that were not possible before, such as tank tracks, side rods on wheels and suspension forks.

The Weld Tool has two main features right now!
1. Weld lose creations to other creations by pressing the left mouse button to pick it up and then left mouse button again to weld it onto a surface.

2. If you have a creation where you want to connect two parts on separate bearings.
Make sure the creation is on the lift and that the parts are touching each other.
Then simply hold the left mouse button on the first part and drag to the other part to weld them together.

We will add more features to the Weld Tool in the future to make it even better.

Time for another awesome little update.
A lot of you symmetry-loving Mechanics have been asking for a new Driver’s seat that is 3 blocks wide. So we made the Driver’s saddle! Great for more compact vehicles and it’s also light weight.
We also added a new feature to the Lift that lets you rotate your creation with Q before placing it down. Really useful for bigger flying machines.

  • Added Driver’s Saddle

  • When you pick up creations on the lift, you can now rotate them with Q before placing the lift down.

  • Seat GUI should no longer get stuck when ejecting from the seats.

  • Made the glass windows more clear from the inside.

  • Fixed a bug caused by the introduction of volume sliders for the Totebot Heads.
    トートボットヘッドのボリュームスライダーによるバグを修正した。
  • Made sensors more responsive.
    センサーを敏感にした。

Keep in mind that these small updates we do weekly or bi-weekly do not affect the work we do on optimization, bigger requested features or survival mode.
The weld tool is just behind the corner!

 

Glass Update 0.1.25 (2016/04/30)

We have a nice little update for you today.
It’s finally time for you to get your hands on the shiny glass block.
It was highly requested by many of you.
We added a building block and a few new windows for you to build with.
More windows to come in future updates.

  • Added a new glass block

  • Updated Totebot Head: Blip, Bass and Synth Voice so they can play long notes.

Look out Mechanics!
A new update is out!

Four Totebot Heads incoming. Don’t despair though, they’re perfectly harmless. For now. In all honesty, they're actually broken, but we've heard them making noise which must mean their internal sound generators are still working!

We can’t think of a better way to exact revenge over these vicious, dangerous lumps of metal than to turn them into singing trophies. If you were playing Scrap Mechanic and thinking, “yo, I wish I could find a way to bring some sick beats up in here”, then we’re happy to say your thirst for music creation can now be very much quenched. We’re looking forward to listening to the seriously sensational sounds you Mechanics are about to create!

We have a new patch for you today!
This one should fix a few issues that some players have reported.

Here are the patch notes:

  • The controller should no longer break your creations when logging in to a world. This does not fix creations that are already broken previously by this bug.
    ワールドにログインした時、コントローラーがあなたの作品を壊さなくなった。修正されない作品は、バグによって既に壊されている。
  • Bearings controlled by the controller should now behave better.
    コントローラーによるベアリングの制御が改善された。
  • Objects can no longer be removed while seated.
    オブジェクトが着席時に取り除かれなくなった。
  • "Use" [E] can now be used to close the interface of any interactive part.
    「使用」キーがいくつかの相互作用パーツのインターフェイスを閉じるのに使われるようになった。

Hi Mechanics!

We know that some of you have requested more sensor settings.
So we decided to make it possible to set the range. You can now also set the sensor so it behaves like a button or a switch. Sound can also be turned on and off.

Hi Mechanics,

We are currently busy working on bigger updates.
But here are some small fixes we wanted to add right away that will improve
the gameplay further for you.

Here are the patch notes:

  • Fixed a memory allocation issue related to a particle system. Scrap Mechanic now uses much less memory. This could increase fps drastically for some players. It could also fix a crash when starting/loading a game for some players.
  • More visible thruster particles.
  • Multiplayer optimization on building and updating shapes.
