5つの部族は湖の周りの新しい土地に落ち着いた。しかし、変化には対立が伴い、すべての族長が新たな境界線に満足しているわけではない。そして、部族の境界のすぐ外側に新たな浮浪猫の一団が侵入し、たちまち部族猫たちの不満と不信の標的になると、スクワーレルフライトはサンダー族の副長としての義務と正しいことをしたいという願望の間で板挟みになる。
